Flash flood chasers?

We all know about tornado chasers - this guy in Arizona chases flash floods.

There was a similar flash flood on Battle Creek near Moran a couple weeks ago. I didn't see it happen but the aftermath was impressive. A few days later I stood in the bottom of the once again dry creek bed and saw driftwood/debris 15 feet up in the trees and a water gate on the fence line was ripped out of it's concrete moorings and disappeared .
The power of water is amazing.

I saw part of the video on the news last week. I have to assume they know how high the water will get. Some of it looked like unnecessary chances were being taken. I wouldn't have wanted my wife to let it get that close.

Wow that was a great video. I'd hate to get caught in one of those. I have been through a lot of floods but haven't seen them come in like that. I usually see the aftermath of the wall and not the actual wall.
