    Snapper?

Pulled a snapper out of the crick this morning... don't know if there are snappers down there or not. This is a small one for up here.

We don't have poisonous snakes or killer bees or poisonous spiders. But our turtles will take your big toe off... or a healthy chunk out of ya.

That's what "Midwestern" rednecks call a creek.

Apparently they spell it just as it's pronounced.

All in good fun, good to hear from the Redneck Archer.

BTW-if you ever hear one talking about a “knob”, he’s not being nasty that’s the vernacular for a small hill.

That is a common snapper. Texas has two different species of snapping turtles, the common and the alligator.
The alligator snappers can get really big. They can go several hundred pounds. A friend's grandfather had an old shell that measured 32 inches from head to tail.

                            I am doing pretty good.

still working on getting a job. I had a offer from a big/good company, but the pay was very weak and the hours were horrid, and would not work with my school schedule. I have a few other pending interviews (2nd interviews) I am waiting to hear from.

Other than that good. been drinking allot of canadian beer, and enjoying this BEAUTIFUL WEATHER.

Highs have been in the upper 60's to low 70's with the lows being low 50's to low 60's. just perfect weather! Once I get a job if I still have savings left I am going start looking at snowmobiles for the upcomming winter. Looks like we are expecting the first frost in 6 weeks.

I cant wait as that means the corn will be coming down shortly and will be able to actually see back into the fields...

and yes, that was a common snapper. a small one. my dad used to rescue snappers from the road ways when we had our lawn care business up here, and bring them to my grandpas place and let them go in the crick... we have let go some HUGE alligator snappers. Ill see if my mom can dig up some old pics of us playing with them.

I got a "new" old bow. its an old darton mx45 that my cousing gave to me. nothing new fancy or expensive, but it has killed many deer and bear. So now I have 3 darton mx45's and older oregon 2 martin's and a youth bow. gotta figure out which one I want to shot a deer with first!

Ill be picking up a trail cam and salt lick and throwing some apples up out back to see whats coming through. Saw a nice buck in velvet last week, and bunch of does. CANT WAIT FOR FALL!
