Working on the book I'm writing, and I'm stuck

I know the direction I want to take, I just can't figure out how to get there.

Still early early in the book. Do I introduce the new character or try to induce the calm before the storm?


Hard to decide without details I know... The main character just killed someone in self defense. He's never killed anyone before.

Must be consistent with your character's personality. Does he need calming? Will the new character calm him or upset him? Connect the dots between point A and point X, but the connections have to be plausible and consistent. Good luck.
