Hey folks,
Wondered if I could ask you guys to keep a little boys in your prayers. His name is Keith Gaisford. He is 5 yrs old and in my son's kindergarten class. Cutest, most lively kid you have ever seen. There was a write up on him on the front page of the Dallas Morning News a couple of weeks ago.
Long story short, he has needed a liver transplant for a long time now. He received a partial liver transplant when he was only a few weeks old and that has kept him alive for this long. However, the "plumbing" also was bad and has made his life pretty difficult over the last few years. He could only eat through a feeding tube.
Anyway, we got the call at 5:30 this morning that said the family was headed to the hospital...a liver was available and it was a match! Many prayers answered! Please pray that the surgery goes well today and that he doesn't reject the liver. The little guy has a long row to hoe.
Also keep in mind the family of the donor. Organ donation is a wonderful thing, but there is most certainly always broken hearts on the other end.
Thanks.
