I have all parts and pieces to hook up my camera to solar power, except one. I need an adaptor to fit over the male portion of a 12v plug to convert to 6v any ideas where to get the female to male adaptor, radio shack is a no go here, was thinking best buy or some camera store?? Any thoughts.

A couple of things. There really isn't such a thing as 6V or a 12V plug. There are different style plugs that can be used in many different applications. The better thing would be to find a plug/pigtail that fits the camera and resolder/splice the new plug on, making sure you pay attention to polarity. Then you need to take electrical tape/duct tape and tape off half the pannel's cells so that you halve the voltage.

Traditionally speaking there is no such thing as a 6v or a 12v plug unless a manufacturer who makes 6v and 12v devices decides to standardize on a plug type so that you don't do something dumb like connect a 12v panel to a 6v battery, or connect a 12v battery/solar panel to a device that only needs 6v, or vice versa.
Assuming your solar panel voltage matches your battery voltage which matches your camera's external power requirement, then you just need to buy a replacemnt plug on amazon for a buck or two. Maybe send a picture of what you are talking about and we can help you figure out the plug type you need to use.
