    Need some hunting camp recipes

My grandpa usually cooks when were in Childress but all he knows how to do is fry stuff. That makes me really fat by the end of the season lol. So this year I'm thinking about doing all the cooking. He doesn't eat chicken so I need ideas with beef and pork.

    Any good recipes?

best thing ever for lease is a crock pot. put a pork shoulder in (use the new slow cooker bags for easy clean up) and use one of the pulled pork seasoning packs that you add vinegar and such to. put on after morning hunt, eat after evening hunt
if you want really easy, just get one of the shoulders that is pre seasoned, just put it in and let her ride.
another is to take and make hamburger patties, put in crock pot in the bag again. then pour bbq sauce over them and put them on before your evening hunt. eat when you get back.

Second on the crockpot. Chili slow cooked all day is dang tough to beat. Smoked sausage grilled with mixed veggies is tough to beat.

What's ur camp setup? Electricity? Fire pit? Smoker?

Take a ham off a young deer. You can use pork or beef. Cut it into small cubes and brown it slowly till tender. Mix in some cream of mushroom soup. (You don't want it too soupy) Salt and pepper to your taste. I use cayenne pepper. Add chopped onions and additional mushrooms if you really like those. Simmer till all is tender. Serve over rice or mashed potatoes. So good it will make your leg quiver like a hound dog.

I agree with these guys on the crock pot. Beans , chili , stew , chicken , all kinds of possibilities.

                Cowboy Cornbread:

2 packs of mexican corn bread, mix it up and pour 1/2 into greased pan. Cook 2 lbs of ground venison or beef in a pan. Drain fat then pour into pan with the cornbread mix. sprinkle cheese and onions over top then pour the rest of the mix over the top and smooth it out.

bake however it says on the cornbread pack.

then you have a big loaf of cornbread with meat and cheese inside. Pour a little ranch on it and bam. delicious!

It's a house. We have a grill but no smoker. I may take up my disc this year. That thing would come in handy
