Upgraded our varmint guards and left a note for the coons

I finally had enough of the coons emptying our feeders. Following a design from the DIY forum I finally made some good varmint guards and installed them this weekend.

Up to now, the coons have had pretty much free reign at the feeders, so this may come as a bit of a shock to them. I thought it only fair to print these handy fliers explaining the new rules, and attach one to each feeder.

You just got a corn raise. Nice work on the guards..

They are worth every penny and the sore fingers it takes to build them..

It was very nice of you to leave the note.

Jerp, you might want to reinforce the door on it a little more. When I built mine that way after the coons were eating all the wanted they really did everything they could to get in and on a couple of them the pried the doors open to get in. Your door is smaller then mine so you might not have that problem.

Smart, - you are right about the sore fingers. I'm sure you recognize that as your design - they turned out great. I'll be interested to see how much corn we save.

Yeah, my original idea was to use those clips to secure the door but when I pulled on it I got worried that they could bend it open. Before we left I sent back and secured it with zip ties.

I use a bungie cord laced back and forth across the door--stretch it tight. They might chew through it, but haven't so far.

You should put it in Spanish too before you get sued
