Biggest toad I've had the pleasure of meeting

Last night was the second night I had the pleasure of running into the biggest toady frog i have ever seen. I just had to share. I tried my hardest to give the boy some justice with pics but it just didn't work. Hopefully it'll give y'all some idea.

That's a biggun...I've had to rescue a few out of our dog's little swimming pool nearly that size. We love 'em b/c they keep the bugs down

I bet he's full of cockroaches!!!!

They do a great job of thinning out the insects.

Those toads start appearing all over the place around my house in the late summer/early Fall. I find them everywhere, mostly camped out around the landscape lighting. When one of our dogs was just a pup she picked one up in her mouth - for about a second. For the next 15 minutes she looked like a kid who bit into a green persimmon-must be something on their skin. Dog learned her lesson - now she just barks at them.

That is funny, It seems like they do it on purpose sometimes.

jerp, you probably already know this but the lights attract bugs, bugs attract toads and that is why you find the toads around the lights.

If i am not mistaken they can spit out some nasty tasting stuff to protect them from dogs etc.

Yep, they in are in a bug eating competition with the spiders, and the lights are perfect hunting grounds. It's about time for those big zipper spiders to start build webs around the lights too. I like the fact that the toads eat bugs but they get in the garage and my wife backs over them. Every year I have to clean up a few bloody pancakes that used to be toads.

Ya he is hangin out in the landscaping next to our yard lights. I'm wondering if the poo that I found yesterday on the porch is from him. Maybe cat sized. Who knows. My wife thought it was hilarious how fat he was.

......and with the toads come the eastern hognose. They love to eat toads.

My GSP was chasing one around in the yard a couple nights ago and finally got ahold of him. He was foaming like a dishwasher for a solid 5 minutes. I think he learned his lesson.
