      Hard to get rid of.

You can buy something call MSM at a feed store and spray. cost like $15 or so for a 1 oz bottle.

Or let me know and I will bring some back from the farm. It only takes .2 oz powder per acre so you mix it wil alot of water.

Do you have other types of grass?

I use Cimarron in my coastal fields but like other's are saying it's hard to get rid of without killing other grass

I think MSMA is your best bet, but as long as your neighbors have it..you will keep getting it. Maybe all yall can go in together and have everyone spray.

mostly st augustine. but the bahia is choking out the SA.

I guess Im gonna have to treat the neighbors yard too as their entire front yard is covered with bahia and they don't act like they are too concerned about it.

Clear Pasture and Cimmaron work good. But you have to spray that stuff early. It's way too late now and any spraying you do now will not be of much good. The seed heads are already up and fallen. So you will have to do it again next year guaranteed. It usually takes 2-3 seasons to kill it out at least 90% or more and you will have it come up again in spots here and there over the next few years. It's a great grazing grass for pastures and very drought tolerant. Turkeys love the seed head.

Do not put MSMA on St. Augustine!

Use Scott's DMC weed control on St. Augustine

The time to treat it was April - May. Now, you are just wasting time and money.

Thats true with just about all weeds and grasses that once they develop the seed heads, it is too late.

I had a problem with crabgrass in my Bermuda.

Found a good solution on this website.

BASIC INFORMATION: General Turf and Weed Info Lawn Care Calendars THREE METHODS There are three primary methods of controlling weeds. Any one method, when used alone, will not usually control all of your weeds. To consistently control weeds you must use a combination of all three practices. The references above give specific information on lawn

Timing is everything when applying preventive methods. Basically you want to apply your pre-emergent herbicide twice a year. March 15 & Sep. 15. You have summer weeds & winter weeds so once a year is not enough. Found lots of good info on this website. Hope it helps.

Just spray it with round-up and then let the St. Augustine fill back in. That's what I do and it works pretty good. Easier than pulling it anyway.

Check the lawn care calendar for SA. Best time to apply your pre emergent herbicides are in Feb. (summer weeds) & Sep. (winter weeds)

I use Cimarron every year. Expensive, but it works.
