It's too dang hot here - we're going to Alaska!

Czechgrubworm, 2 of her non TBH friends and I are headed out for a week of cooler weather and fishing fun. This is the same trip I went on back in 2009.

Angie is leaving in the morning to fly into Sitka first. I will be flying in to Ketchikan on Sunday. We all get on the boat Monday morning and the adventure begins.

This is from Capt. Rob on his trip last week....

Had a fantastic encounter with a sow brown bear....and her 2 cubs...from a safe distance and my new 400mm Canon lens to close the gap and bring her in close. The group thought it was a highlight of the trip....more than the 3 halibut over 100 pounds they caught and had to release, more than the limits of "keeper size" halibut, more than the first day limit of 24 salmon, more than the 10 gallons of spot prawns, more than the crablegs all they could eat.....well, you get the idea....this bear viewing experience was pretty awesome!!! d

Bear experiences are way cool....but I'm SOOO excited about all the fish catching they did!!! Hope it holds out...and feel sure it will.

Look for lots of pics from the two of us (some will probably be of Angie's bag). She's had to pack and repack and then I think pack more. I'm thinking she may secretly be trying to move onto the boat

I have heard that Dave will be in Ketchikan the Saturday before we fly out. We may just have a little long distance HH to post pics of as well.

Still in it. Feels like part of my body now. LOL

Was supposed to go get an xray this week to see if I needed surgery....but decided to wait until I get back. If I have to have surgery...no big deal...but I'm not giving them the opportunity to tell me that before I go on vacay

To wade, I have decided to just take the leg insert part out and then secure the boot over my waders. Where there is a will....there is a way.

I packed my nice bag so diligently, folded everything all nicely, stuffed it in each corner and open space I could so precisely Tightened up the straps, was all proud of myself, took over the scale and what ?????????????? 56 LBS.. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... went to a different scale and same thing 56 lbs... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....

So, I grabbed me a cold one, went outside and "recalculated" as my Garmin would say... came back in and threw "everything out of the bag like I was a cat digging for the bottom of the cat litter box" threw all my perfectly folded and neat stuff all over the living room floor... Steve decided at that point, it was safest to go to bed....
