Just thought I would pass on something I tried last year with great success. I have used salt blocks before and it seemed it took the animals forever to eat them. I got to thinking maybe it was to hard to eat. So I bought 2 bags of Morton salt (80 lbs) and dumped it out next to one of my feeders. I went back to check on it the next weekend and it was all gone. The salt is cheaper this way and they seem to like it a lot. I had pics of deer, aoudads and pigs eating it.

Was that just coarse salt or was it the pelleted stuff? That is really a lot of salt to disappear in just a week. You either had a lot of animals hitting that lick or somebody came along and scooped it up. Even cows will get their fill pretty quickly and back off of the salt for awhile.
Another thing that you could try is the bagged mineral. I have never used it but I believe that it is high in salt content along with all the other goodies that animals crave.
