    Truck Maint.

Well it was time to change the oil in the truck; and some other random maintenance and I also decided it was time to change the spark plugs on my truck 2008 Dodge 5.7L Hemi

Changed the oil and filter <WIX> (O'Rielly's has Mobile 1 on sale BTW. 5 quarts for $29.95 and 1 quart for 5.99)

    Cleaned the K&N Air filter

    Changed the windshield wipers

    Changed the spark plugs.

Ran a bottle of Seafoam through the intake

That was a glorious cloud of smoke might I add.

BTW: I may sell my truck before I EVER change the spark plugs in that thing again. What a pain in the arse. 16 plugs without a ladder and 2+ hours of time. unbelievable pain.

On the plus side it runs much smoother and hopefully will get better gas mileage.

Ya changing plugs sucks... I might suggest changing the distributor cap and rotor while getting into it though. I didnt once, and a week like my rotor screwed up and fawled a couple of my plugs. Had to do the job twice. Just a thought.

It has individual coil packs per cylinder. No distributor.

There are two 10mm screws that hold each of them to the valve cover.

      Tools needed:

      10 mm socket
      1/4" socket wrench
      10 mm wrench
      1/4" short extension
      1/4" swivel adjustment
      5/8" spark plug socket

First you have to remove the intake cover makes things a lot easier to get to.
then be prepared to stand/sit awkwardly for the next 2 hours taking off each coil pack and 2 spark plugs per cylinder. I was questioning why I was doing it about half way through.
