    Deer Blind Question

If I'm building an all metal blind with the sides and roof being made out of smooth sheet metal tin. Is it necessary for the roof to be sloped? The roof will be painted galvanize so I'm not worried about rusting.

It will hold water if you don't and eventually rust through.

Might just make sure the front or back of stand is a little lower and the water will run off, shouldn't take much. At least that is my hope with the new stand I am working on.

Should have some sort of slope!

As protech noted, it shouldn't take much to get the water to run off. Standing water is a bad idea for a lot of reasons. You don't want it if you can help it.

Also, I can tell you from experience that all metal blinds are very loud and very cold. They just suck the heat right out of you. Sounds that wouldn't disturb a deer in a wooden blind will have the whole herd staring at you from 200 yards away in a metal one. Insulate the heck out of that sucker.

If you can, have a sheet metal shop cross break it. They put it in a brake and put a slight bend from opposite corner, to opposite corner like an "X" across the top. This will give it some watershed, and stiffen it just a little. This is how we have chimney caps made.
