    Child Support Question

So... Long story short, I pay my brother's child support. (He isn't mentally capable of holding a job/ is under 24 hour care, and I made sure she got all of his assets in the divorce. He became addicted to drugs and severely injured himself)

I do this out of love and support for his ex-wife, and her children.

I spoke to her the other day, and she told me she isn't receiving any money?

I have paid every check on time - if not early. For the past 4 months she has had no money arrive.

Any ideas? Should she call and ask what's going on, or should I on behalf of my brother?

Are you going through the attorney Generals office?

First off, kudos to you. Folks with your attitude make the world a better place.

If I were in your shoes, I would be on the phone non-stop until I had an answer. Tell her to do the same.

Yes - We go through the AG's office. It helps me with my taxes

Just a side question - How does it help with your taxes?

My CPA submits it. I keep a copy of all of it. (Don't know exactly what it falls under)

Child support is not a tax saving event?

I would have the person getting the support call the AG on a conference call with you. You most likley have no standing with the AG?

                  Good luck.

He probably claims the child as a dependent.
