Fixing to try to put the snuff down for good!

After a long 25+ year love affair with my wintergreen habit and 2 failed attempts at quitting, (once for 3 years and once for 19 months),I'm hoping to be done with it for good!
I know when hunting season rolls around and the cooler weather and campfires get here it will be a challenge but I'm ready to be done with it!

Lord willing, I just spit my last dip out!

    Wish me luck!!!!

Best of luck. I just quit smoking back in January. Chantix worked well for me. Sometimes, there's still temptation, but staying strong. Good luck.

Look into jakes mint snuff. The best tasting stuff I had found with many different favors.
Been 9 months since I quite. Took two can of jakes to be off everything. You can do just set your mind to ad do it one day at a time. Prayers for ya.

          Thanks fellas!
The last time I stopped for 19 months and I didn't have to use gum, candy or anything else. I just let my hankering get the best of me one day and gave in to it. I know I can handle it this time, ive just got to be a little bit stronger!

I took my last dip on July 3 after 18 years. I ordered Nicoban and it has helped me big time. It's an all natural supplement system. I have had no cravings in the last 20 days, not even after eating. The biggest thing, at least for me, is you gotta have it locked in your head that you want to and are going to quit. If there is any doubt about it, you may not do it. Good luck to you!! There are plenty of folks here that have quit (and stuck to it) that will be here to support you!!

Good luck.... I quit 2 1/2 months ago after 27 years. My 7 year old did it for me...
He asked me to quit for around 2 months, and I finally did it. It is real hard, but do it for you and your family. Yes I still have the urge, but I look at my kids everyday and know that snuff is not worth it. GOOD LUCK. I did it cold turkey. .... don't use anything to quit. It just makes you want the real stuff more and more. If you can make it 3 days without a dip in your mouth then you have made it.

This works for me. I keep it in my phone, and know that I have to print it out and sign it in the event that I ever decide to stop and buy a can or even bum a dip from a buddy. I know I can't sign this, so I know I can't ever give in to a craving. My quit has been, and always will be, a permanent decision.

                Contract to Give Up

I give up my quit. Quitting is impossible and I cannot do it. I love dipping more than I love myself. I care about dipping more than I care about my personal health. I love dipping more than I love my family. I know this addiction will kill me, and I ACCEPT that fact. I enjoy spending time alone with my can more than I enjoy spending time with anyone else on the planet. I look forward to losing my jaw, my tongue, my throat, my life - it's worth it. When I am lying in my hospital bed fighting a losing battle against cancer I will feel a sense of satisfaction knowing that this is the path I CHOSE. My only regret will be that I didn't start dipping earlier in life. I will feel sorrow for my family’s heartbreak and suffer untold pain, but I know you must sacrifice for the things you truly love.

I know ALL the consequences of my actions and I accept them fully and without regret. I hereby choose to give my life to this addiction - I do so with a smile on face.

Good luck, do it man. Chantix worked for me too. 5 years plus of no more Skoal Long Cut Wintergreen. I am so thankful to no longer be a slave to tobacco. I dipped for 15 years or so.
