    The plan originally called for 2x6 on top. In order to save money I bought 2x8 and ripped them into 2x4's. I used shade material and lattice with it for sun protection.

    I'm still not sure how I'm going to hide the Simpson Ties on 6x6's.

                        Hide the simpson ties with a flagstone outdoor tile to throw in come color on the concrete IMO.
