    Draw weight?

I have a 70 pound compound bow and I used to shoot it fine, but I started working out about 6 months ago and have found that it is now harder for me to pull it back!! Anyone have that problem? I figured it would have gotten easier but I can shoot about 15 arrows and I start feeling fatigued. Would yall go down to a 50-60 or just keep working on it? I get in the I have to pull 70 but I also want to get better thanks for your help. Oh and if you shoot a 50-60 pound does it harvest most animals in America?

60# will harvest anything in the lower 48 I will never ever ever shoot 70 again

Drop down to a 50-60 won't hurt at all and will help your fatigue issues. You'll still be able to hunt any animal in North America with the exception of an Elk at long distances.

If you have it set up right with the right gear and tuned properly, you'll have no issues killing most every animal with a 60 lbs bow (that's not taking into account distance tho) You obviously won't have the penetration with 60 lbs that you do with a 70+ lbs bow at longer distances

I've shot 58 lbs for years. Turn your bow down to 60 and have fun.

I had an older Hoyt bow that got harder to pull back. Make sure the cables and strings don't need replacing because this drastically increased the feel in weight. If that doesn't apply I am not sure what it could be.

Now the question is should he turn his bow down or get new limbs?? Many say that turning a bow down decreases it efficiency.

Been shooting a 60lb bow since 2007 and will never go back to 70. You really don't needed it. The only deer I did not get a passthrough out of the 11 I have shot at with a 60lber was a spine shot and it dropped in its tracks and bled out...

I would be careful about cranking your 70lb bow down to 60 as they don't perform as well on their bottom end.....best to get a 60lb and max it out or take it down to 65-66 and give that a shot

crank yours down to low 60s and see how you like it. I love shooting light, that's why my new bow is a 60lber

As others have said, I got a new bow this year and went with 60 pound max limbs. Best thing I ever did. I can practice without getting worn out. My shoulder loves me again.

That's what I have heard that if you lower a 70 to 60 it won't shoot as good as a 60 cranked up. I will crank it down to practice till I can get a new one! Thanks for all the help guys, I got into the well my buddy's shoot 70. I think it has to do with we work out 4 times a week and we do pull ups and dead lifts so my back gets a heck of a workout! Again thanks for all the help

50 # will kill anything in this country and most anything in the world.
No need for 70, just lower it a tad for now and if you have to raise it back to 70 when ready

My bow max's out at 65# and is set on about 62#'s. Plenty of juice for any critter I might shoot. With bow designs these days a 50-55# bow is plenty. How many times you need to shoot all the way through one animal?

That's not really true for todays bows, it will shoot just fine by turning it down.

The biggest problem you have developed is shorter muscles. Working out without proper stretching and lengthening exercises will do this. To avoid other problems I would definitely encourage this be added to your routine.
Regarding the drop in draw weight, you will not have a problem with the lower draw weight. You might need to retune and check your spine on the arrows. Also will need to adjust your pins. Remember, you will really need to watch your follow through since the arrows time on the string will be increased.
