Let's see, any deer that hangs around or has a unique feature gets a name. If you watch them for several years, then they certainly get a name. This mainly started for us in the late 90's when trail cameras were getting popular.
La Bigga Boy, Curly Brow 8, Socks, Split G2, Tuft 8, 6 pt. No Brow, Hurt Hip buck, Pearly Horns, Buddy,to name a few. We only shot two of the above over the years.
Splitter, paranormal, skyscraper. All pretty self expanitory. Splitter has both ears split clean to the ear hole, paranormal only shows up way in the back of our trail camera pics or way at the edge of the field where you can barley see him, then disappears, and sky scraper because he's a 10 pt about 18 inches inside but he has 13 to 14 inch g2s and 12 to 13 inch g3s.
Big Boy - for obvious reasons
Crabby - Crab claws at the end of each main beam and on the G-2's
Old Momma - This doe has been around a LONG time and still producing
We had one called "Trip"...First time I saw him,he walked up to one of the Feeder pens. All swollen, and looking tough.Pretty nice 8 pt,probably another year or 2 from being a real shooter. Our pens were made outta cow panels,I believe 50" tall...He looked around for a bit, relaxed a little, and went to jump the cow panels, caught his front leg,and WHAM! Flat on his back! Man,he jumped up,and looked around like somebody done it,or was making sure nobody seen it,one or the other.I had to bury my face in my coat I was laughing so hard! I've seen a few animals look like they were embarrassed before, but never woulda dreamed a deer could get that way...Ol' Trip!
