Also I think the title to this post is kind of misleading, its not like the guys are just "setting them free" they are leaving it up to a different agency to prosecute so they can focus on the guys transporting MUCH larger quantities of dope. Why spend all your time on these small time guys when you can leave it up to the state and catch someone with TONS (literally) of drugs?

This is what they want you to believe... Truth is, drug smugglers do just get set free, and it happens all the time. I think if the general public knew exactly what happens on the southern border, and how handcuffed the men and women of CBP/USBP/ICE actually are, they would be absolutely sickened.

            All this over marijuana?

5m to 31m dollars to stop marijuana... That our US farmers could be growing and our Govt taxing...

            Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Thurgood: I'm here today because I'm addicted..to marijuana.
Rehab patient: You in here 'cuz of marijuana?! Man, this is some BULL$()7
Bob Saget/Cocaine addict: Marijuana is not a drug. I used to .... .... for coke.
Rehab patient: I seen him [do it]!
Bob Saget/Cocaine addict: Now that's an addiction, man.

You didn't read the whole article. It did say they were set free.
