    Humidor help

I am turning to the brain trust yet again for an answer. I keep the thermostat in the house at 74 while occupied and 81 when I am not home. My humidity varies from 58-70. Here is a picture of my humidor and the 2 humidifiers I am using. The sponge is worthless. The cigar has some sort of gel tablets inside. I add water and it is supposed to maintain humidity. Any simple solution that will require minimal attention? Thanks in advance for the ideas

I buy that gel stuff in a small jar. Open the cap put it in the humidor, replace it every three months. Ive had no issues.

I have a bigger humidifier in my box... its a rectangle shape about 6 inches long. And a digital temp and humidity gauge... dont have many problems.. did you set up the humidor correctly when you got it? Is it a new one... etc etc...

I use cat litter. REALLY! Cheap and easy.

Exquisicat Pearl (the all white stuff.)

All you have to do is mix it with distilled water, and place it in an aquarium filter bag and you are good to go for six months.

I think the real issue is that you have a bad seal on your humidor. Make sure it is nice and tight. Also, try to keep it out of direct sunlight and make sure the AC vent is not pointed at it.

A humidity swing from 58 to 70 really isn't that bad, IMO cigars can't absorb and release their moisture over a day or two or four. It might take three weeks of very dry or very moist air to effect your stogies. Esp if they are in your humidor.

I heep my humi around 62 percent.

This but I haven't changed mine in over a year. Keeps a steady 68% in my 300 cigar humidor. I do add water from time to time but that's it.

I set it up when i got it a few years ago. It did run dry awhile back and i wiped the interior down with water.

That cigar tube I have is supposed to be similar to those gel cans. I have not been impressed so far

The cigar shop here said it would last a year. Ive never gotten one to last more than 4 months even adding distilled water to it every so often.
