Pere' David's Deer on the Wall ~ finally!

The Pere David's Deer is originaly from China. They were discovered by a French Priest, Armand David, who arranged for some to be sent back to Europe. They eventually became extinct in China (I think it was during the Ming Dynasty). BY the end of WWII, there were only about 500 left in the world. But, thanks mainly to game ranches they have spread to many parts of the worls including the US (where there are hunting opportunities) and have since been reintroduced to the China.
The Pere David's Deer absolutely loves water! They will totally submerge their heads to eat moss - it's like candy to them. They also run real funny - more like a horse than a deer. A very unique & interesting animal....
My wife is a real keeper and has become a pretty awesome hunter. Today is our 6th anniversary - yeah!
I mounted him back some time ago, but he's so big it was hard trying to put him somewhere. He's pretty well centered vertically on an 8ft wall. We had the antlers freeze dried & they look awesome in velvet.
The trophy fees seem to range between about $5,000 & $10,000 depending on the ranch & quality of the trophy.
