    is property worth killing over?

since the Zimmerman/Martin topic is a popular one....I started researching other shootings that had received a large outcry from the media...the joe horn shooting is one that popped up. for those who aren't familiar with it, the nuts and bolts of it are, man in Pasadena saw two men breaking into his neighbors house, called 911, then while on the phone, goes out with his 12 gauge and confronts the robbers, ultimately leading to him shooting and killing both criminals. A plain clothes officer was in his car and watched the whole thing take place, which is weird since being a cop you think he would intervene. None the less, the incident sparked a outcry from civil rights groups and others such as the new black panther party. Common theme of this incident is that property isn't worth killing over.

What says the TBH's? is it justifiable to kill over property or not?

They use to hang horse theives. My thing is if you, as a criminal, are not willing to give up your life for your criminal ways, then maybe you should seek a new line of work.

Pretty sure I couldn't end a life over theft. Personal protection yes.

kill over somebody else's property? no. mine? maybe. depends on the circumstances and the items at hand.

if i remember right, joe horn didn't shoot until the thieves came towards him.

common theme is... property aint worth killing over unless its your property.

think about this... what if EVERY crime was punishable by death? no if's ands or buts... you get convicted of ANY crime (sans traffic tickets), you are a dead man. the threat of certain death if caught would surely make would be criminals stop and think b4 they committed the crime.

I've never stolen anything in my life because you can get killed for it.

I would never kill someone for steeling my stuff though. I can buy more and I have lots of insurance.

It's just like messing with a married lady, You can get killed for it. Not worth it in my book.

I would never kill over property, but if you try to take my property, you're gonna have to threaten my life to get it, at which point I'm killing you in defense of my own life. I'm not going to just watch someone take my stuff. I'll confront them with words, then fists, then the gun if need be. I'm not going to avoid confronting them just because I know I'm armed and it may come to me shooting them.

So some may still see that as shooting over property, but I don't.

Someone who already got my stuff and is running away... I'm gonna chase you down be it on foot or in my truck, and I'm gonna fight to get it back. Same rules apply then

My neighbors support Obama and strict gun control, so if I saw them getting robbed I may wait a few minutes to call the cops lol

I believe that I have the right to protect my family and my property. That being said it will be up to the person that is endangering my property or my family as to whether he gets shot or not. I have had this opertunity once before and this person decided that what he was after was not worth his life and left rapidly and just in the nick of time. If this happens again the person intending to take or harm will have the same small window of time to decide. I feel that when someone has decided on criminal activity their life expectancy has deminshed greatly and the consequences should be suscide by armed private home owner. I am sure there will be a lot of people who disagree with me but when you ask for and or put out your opions you get what you get.

I don't know, but think about this, I sold a small portion of my life to earn what I own. It was not given to me. I don't like being here at work all day, away from my kids, doing what I do, but I must in order to live. I sell my labor/knowledge, when you steal from me you are taking a piece of my life that I will NEVER get back. You are stealing a portion of my life. The price for that theft may possibly be death. Could I actually kill someone for stealing something? I don't think so, but I WILL try to stop you. If it escalates past that point, its up to you.

Depends of the circumstances. Someone breaks into my house in the middle of the night to rob me while I'm there and I consider them a threat them yes. On the other hand if I walk outside and some thug is running away with my truck stereo, he probably gets a pass.

                            Kill all Thieves.

                            They are worthless scum.

It's a hazard of their chosen profession.... If you're a thief you should know its a possible outcome of your actions... Thieves kill to get what they want... You should too keep what you have.

Kill em ALL, Hang EM High and let the other curr see it. Then don't look back... no use wasting your time over a worthless criminal. Each one down points us in a better direction as a society.

Each time we have to debate whether or not it's ok to kill a thief we head In The wrong direction.
