I'm looking at the new Sportsman bay boats that just recently hit the market. I'm looking at the 227 model. I went and looked at one and the quality is top notch. I was quite impressed. I will absolutely drive one before a decision is made but I was just wondering if any of the green screeners have any info on them!?

Well guys y'all are right on all different opinions. It is a little deeper bay boat yes but it still had a decent draft. I went to the Yamaha premier dealer here in town to look at the majek extreme 25 footer. That's when I saw this boat and the finish was like I haven't seen in a very long time. The two men who own the company are no new comers to boats. One used to own Key West and the other owned Sea Pro. Both companies got bought out some time ago and they have joined to form this company. Just was looking for if anyone had any experience with these. I'm currently am running a Kenner and it has been a fabulous boat. I do like the Haynies as someone mentioned but I have my own opinion about them. I fish ALOT and most of my buddies run Haynies. They are a well built boat and dry and smooth. My negative about them is they are dry and smooth for a reason. They are a touch narrower. If u reef fish in any kind of chop they are just a bit "Bucky" for me. Just my .02! Thanks so far guys and if anyone has anything else on the Sportsman it is appreciated.
