Just how smart is the Elephant?

My brother used to paint with elephants but ony in abstract. I'm pretty sure this is real.

Very interesting. I don't think it's creative expression on the elephant's part. Either each movement is being prompted by a trainer (i.e., the elephant's trunk is just the painting instrument of the trainer) or it has been trained to paint the same image over and over by repetition. Perhaps it's a combination of both. Still, it is truly amazing. Thanks for sharing.

I think its a repetious act but still impressive. That shows the dextarity of an elephants trunk. It traced the lines already painted but that needed a little filling in. Their truck is just like a hand.

i dont know smart that well so i dont know how smart he is. just because smart asks a few 100 thousand questions dont make him dumb.

i had know idea smart had such mad painting skills

keep up the good work smart and dont be afraid to ask question. those painting skills will come in handy building new stands.
