Dang!! I just ordered one of these cameras. I used to have the Moultrie SMS camera and it was really unreliable . Battery life was about 2 weeks even with solar. They just can't seem to get this technology right!

The biggest problem is customer service @ the carrier level. The consumer stores can be hit or miss with these type of requests as 95% of what they deal with is flip phone, smart phone, uverse, etc. if you can get on a corporate account (FAN) from work as a personal liable plan, you will be better off. Get a little discount and get access to better support.

Tell them all you need is the SIM card because you already have a phone. You don't have to worry about the camera using your phone minutes so that is a non-issue.

You have to go to an AT&T corporate store not the yahoos at the mall, best buy or a franchise. It will be the "main" store for the area. Mine is across the street from Bay Area Mall and they have a AT&T service shop right next door. The main store handles the go phone. Take the camera in with you.

Have them give you the regular SIM card. $36 initiation fee and $10 a month. You can have up to 5 lines on your plan. Don't even tell them it's for a camera, it just confuses them.

My additional account looks like this:
1. FamilyTalk Nation 700 with Rollover $9.99 (pre-discount)
2. Family Messaging Unlimited with Mobile to any Mobile Calling $0.00
3. International Long Distance - Blocked $0.00
4. Data Pay Per Use $0.00 ($2.00/MB - don't worry you won't use much if any if you are using SMS only).
Hope this helps.

They may be to far from the switch/office DSL has footage limits from the office to your home. With copper every foot counts.
