best way to clean mounts?

Why??? Reason please. Been doing this for years!!

It leaves an oily-type residue. I don't want that on my mounts.

Ive lightly sprayed a cloth with wd-40 and wipe them down, q-tip for eyes

And the oil just attracts more dust. I'd listen to the taxidermist here. He probably knows what he's talking about. Had another taxi tell me pretty much the same. Spray down with air.
