Why aren't trucks "level" to begin with?

I'm looking at a leveling kit for my F150 and the thought crossed my mind.

Is there some reason why they aren't level right off the factory line?

You need that rake when towing or loading the bed

          Compensates for load sag.

A certain amount of rake improves aero-dynamics, towing, handling, mpg's..etc.... if one had to guess those are reasonable assumptions..
Or ..the mfg's are in bed with the aftermart companies through licensing, patents, subsideraries..etc

                LMAO!

Does the left side come higher than the right to compensate?

                  yep.

only downside is it makes the truck look stupid.

worst looking truck ever is a stock height 1 ton chevy or ford 4x4....looks like a plow

                    This!

                    Nothing more, nothing less!

The nice thing about newer model pickups is if you have a leveled truck and put weight in/on it, you can adjust the head lights so they don't act like high beams all the time.

At least the Tundra's do this!
