Your over thinking it a bit. We were 7 miles from where it changes to a 5 fish limit and it took less than an hour to get there. The great fishing was as much due to the guides knowledge as anything. There were a few folks around us and they did not catch like us. I believe we did it right and will do it the same in the near future.
Levi can catch fish...sometimes! na its not that bad of a boat ride if you have the right boat. But at the wall is right about getting a slow slart would hurt you when you make a long run like that. If you only have to catch 20 trout then its not as bad. I just hate buring all that gas when you can cartch the same fish 2 miles from the causeway. Congrats on a heck of a day and spending some quality time with the boy

We were there to catch one trout. That's the difference. If wee were after a limit we would have run two miles instead.
Theres been more 30+ in trout caught in that 2 miles than you could ever imagine
No doubt. Just like every other two mile stretch along the coast. But right now the big trout are being caught more consistently further south. Along with many other places I'm sure.
