    Directv Remote problems

Both of my Directv remotes stopped working suddenly. I've googled possible remedies, batteries are replaced and in correctly. I was thinking that someone on here might know what is up. I tried calling the Directv help line. Seems that althought my call is "very important" to them, they are in no hurry to get to me.

    Thanks in advance.

Did you replace batteries before they stopped working?

You may have to reprogram the code for your box. I beleive you can google the codes.

Just found it odd that both stopped at the same time(different boxes). I had replaced the batteries about a month ago. Just put new ones in today because I can't figure out what's up.

check in the menu for remote setup, and see what mode it is set at. Maybe it is "now" set for Rf and you need it to be IR, or vice-versa.

Look at the IR LED's with the camera on your phone and press a button on the remote. You should be able to see the LED's flash.

Does it not work at all or just not work the TV?

About every 3 months they send out software updates. Your remotes a d recievers may have been set to rf but the update switched the recievers back to ir. wish I could help more but without being there it's hard. I'm a directv field service tech. In the austin area we are so overbooked that even with everyone working 14 hour days 7 days a week we still are booking our installs over 2 weeks out

Ok got them going. The one that I put new batteries in wasn't working at all. The new batteries were dead. Got another pack and it worked. Did a reset on the other box(red button) and now it works.thanks guys.
