I will eye ball, then bow square it, then paper tune and test to 50-60yds. If everthing is hitting vertical(walk back tuning basically), I call it good.

Yeah I dont do it much anymore either, but back when I first got out of HS I worked as a bowtech in a shop in NM and we didnt have all the fancy tools they do now. So I can manage with a bow square, small ruler good to 1/16" and a sharp eye.

I did much of the same thing, but for me, that was about 28 years ago. I still remember doing things, I just don't remember how I did them.

Just tweaked it a bit by moving the rest back in some so its really close to being 11/16" and it shot great! I still haven't shot through paper but I think its really close to being where it needs to be.

Center- shot should end up slightly inside of Matthews reccomendation.
              11/16 is about right.
              The arrow should sit level.
Paper-tuning will get you close, but tuning your broadheads will get you right on.

Stins, That is the Readers Digest answer to your question.
A true measurement can't be quoted due to how each individual holds his/her bow, and the amount of torque they induce.
Arrows with no kick, and broadheads with field points is the real answer.
It very well could be different than "your buddies bow".

I know but it sure helps to start close and I am real close now. Just need a little more time to fine tune. Thanks again.

Now that I got mine where I want it, I went back to Wood n Feather to help a friend get himself a new DXT. His is wrong handed.

I learned today about aligning the cams, and I found out that mine needs to be changed. It will be interesting to see if it will shoot better once that change is made. If so, then I can't imagine what it will do. It shoots better right now than anything else I've shot. At least for me.

stins- no offense but it doesnt make any sense to shoot it a hundred times before you tune it. thats just a hundred wasted shots. paper tune now and get it right before you shoot it.

Well the strings will stretch, or rather settle in a bit and you will have to make some adjustments. What I believe you are refering to is tuning the center shot, and your right, that wont change. However, I was being generic and refering to "tuning" as the entire set up of also adjusting my sights and peep.
