    Lubbock folks

I was driving down Vicksburg in front of LakeRidge CC at 1:10pm today. A young Mule deer doe trotted in front of me head West and #2 green. I just sat there and watched her. No clue why I didnt think to get a picture. I called the Game Warden and she told me to call Lubbock Animal Control. The phone rang 100 times and I hung up. I called Lubbock police and dispatch said she was on it. If that young deer gets on 82nd St or Slide, it will not end well.

    Crazy stuff. Hub

I know this kind of thing is common in other areas of Texas. Not so much in Lubbock.

Wow! I lived there for years and never even saw a deer within 50 miles of Lubbock. I left there in 1998.

Read a story one time about a whitetail running around tech terrace but I think some jack wagons trapped it and brought it back to the lbk.

I don't know what I'd do if I saw a deer while golfing in Lubbock.

I had friends who live off 26th and Boston and we were sitting on there roof drinking when that deer came running down the street and eventually a LPD had to put it down.

I'm not sure what part of that story is more unbelievable... A roof in west Texas is on average 135degrees.... Or that LPD could hit a deer.

I've seen mulies on the way in on 114 from levelland at Reese.

Lots of places around Lubbock have mule deer and mule deer are entirely nomadic.

              I believe it

Crazy. Deer are common in lots of other cities. Not Lubbock though.

Well file that under "Things you don't see everyday" I know we have turkey and other wildlife inside the city. There used to be an axis deer that lived in Mahon Park off of 34th & Chicago. I see Mule Deer occasionally on the east side of town, but they tend to stay close to the yellowhouse canyon lakes system.

In the past 2 weeks I have seen a mule deer doe and then fawn smacked on 62/82 between lubbock & idalou (kitalou for those familiar)

I hope that deer finds its way back to a safe spot.

I've seen pigs on 179, but never a deer. That's crazy.

There are a lot more than most ppl know of.. I have grown up there and over the years nearly hit numerous deer around Reece center area.. The most I have ever seen was 8 mulies near 4th and Milwaukee.. They are sneaky critters

It was a whitetail, small buck, if I remember correctly it was some college students and they had caught it in a pig trap and had brought it back in.

From what I understand that pig was trapped, transported & released as a joke.
