I am just going through a ruff patch as of late and everyone I talk to says turn it over to the big man up stairs and what going to be is going be. I have a hard time with this I hate not to be in control of my life and I know its the right thing to do but its hard. Any TBH Brothers or ststers got any advice on how to just give it up?

God has always been in control of your life. Now that your turning it over to Him and not fighting against His will, your life will will be easier. Maybe not at first, but with the strength of Him you can get through it.
We all have rough spots and low points in life so that we can trully appreciate and value the high peaks.

I'm going through the exact same thing right now, and just when I thought things couldn't get worse, I lost my best friend in my avatar with me last night. I am fighting so hard to just let things be the way they are supposed to be. One of my best friends (bowgypsy) just texted me and said this: "Sometimes the best thing you can do is not think. Not wonder. Not imagine. Not obsess. JUST BREATHE and have FAITH that everything will work out for the best." These were not her words, she saw this on FB and thought about me and shared it with me. I truly believe that GOD put that in front of her to share with me.
Brotha all will be okay, God has a master plan, just have faith!!

This is the essence of being a believer. Its easy to verbalize "I believe in a holy God who died for my sins," but the reality is, until we "die to ourselves" (paraphrased Luke 9:23). There is no true demonstration of faith until you are willing to let go of the day to day of your life and follow your Maker's lead.
I'm reminded of the story of the Rich Young Ruler, (Mark 10:17-27), all Christ asked of him was to let go of his earthly bondings and follow Him. That's "letting go and letting God," as the saying goes.
It hard and and it requires us to do it on a daily basis (again Luke 9:23).
For me, in real life application, all of the above is good, and I know it on a cerebral level. But its difficult to live it out. What works for me is to sit down and truly evaluate the "rough patch" as you have called it, and look at what decisions have led you there. None of us randomly get to a place in life that is hard, its all intentional and is used to the good of God, if we choose.
For me, I have never reflected back on a difficult time and not come to the conclusion that I am a poor manager of my life. If I am a poor manager, why would i want to continue to follow my lead. This is the beauty of free will, it allows us to come to a salvation conclusion all on our own.
I believe that this is why God allows difficulties to emerge in our lives. Its the earthly consequences for our own actions and choices, and it puts in a place where we can finally give up our power and will over our lives and give it to Him. Christ spells it out pretty well in 2 Corinthians 12:9-11 "we are pefected in our weakness".
Hope this helps, pm me anytime.

You simply have to live what you believe. If you believe God is KING then you will submit to the King. If you think you are King you will fail. God loves us more than we know, but HE is still God and as GOD he controls everything. Just know you live in a fallen world and that the world has been turned upside down due to sin. Its just temporary, so let it go. One day He will make it right again. So.... Do all the best you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as you can. Bottom line why you are here.
1) Love God
2) Love people
in that order. :-)

2 simple ways I get through each and every day
Phil 4:13 .... I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me
Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.
Driving the vehicle of life and trying to be in control 100% of the time has NOT worked for me, you, or any other human being that has walked this earth
Let Go and Let GOD take the wheel
When you turn it over to God and have FAITH, life gets so much easier
