    Bill of rights

Why do people rail against bills and laws that take away the 2nd amendment but think that crushing the first, fourth or fifth are okay? Why is safety in the form of a checkpoint or questions asked to an enforcement agency to prove youre in the wrong bad, but try to limit the amount of ammo you own or the type of gun you purchase is herecy? Why cant people undertand that freedoms eroded in one area allow other freeedoms to follow suit?

Who is it that thinks it is okay to crush the other amendments?

I am going out on a limb and guessing that the people in this forum that believe in the Second Amendment do not feel like getting rid of the others.

I think that you need a bit more specificity.

I see it reading into threads on here from time to time but I think it comes from professional experiences and life experiences. I just try to see both sides but there's no changing a man's mind. It's just getting more and more mainstream due to television throwing it all in our faces constantly...

SCOTUS ruling that DUI checkpoints are NOT A violation of the 4th amendment, appears to have been upheld as far back as 1990. Seeing all of the people on here claiming that its totally fine and acceptable because "if it saves one life", yet the same logic is placed on weapons and magazines, and the same people cry foul. Toss in if you havent done anything wrong, why would you fight the questioning or let guys like you search their vehicle when they havent done anything wrong? you can't have it both ways.

Answers to your question are complex and multi faceted:
          1. The easiest is because people look at life thru their own simple set of experiences.
          2. The vast number of Americans don't understand that it is a total document not a one issue blog. I want this but that does not affect me or mine so it can be cast aside.
          3. If it "feels & sounds" good and the folks I like in "whatever name" party agree with it I am in agreement also.
          4. "Everyone is a victim mentality".......it has taken over the ship and special interests run amuck!

Aha! I can now answer more clearly.
I don't agree searching anyone or anything without 'proper' clear-cut cause. YES.......it is a violation of privacy!!! Libertarians are looked at like Martians but they have said this for decades from what I can decipher. We Americans tend to freely give-away our "liberty" as citizens when ANY issue is wrapped in the BS argument of safety..........i.e., the so-called Patriot Act! LMAO........just last month some sitting congressman said, "I did not realize that ACT allowed for yada, yada!!!!" IDIOTS!!!

Interesting. Pay special attention to the part about the "false alert" which gives LE the right to search with probable cause.

Bingo!!! I just read the transcript. Really a sad state of affairs as that whole Mexican Federally stop & search comes to mind when I read stuff like this.

i dont know how often a k9 will give false positives, but this video is based on one dog alert.

This is not an LEO gripe. this is a thread based on perceived safety and the people who complain that their rights are being taken in one area, yet willingly give them up in others. This is about the lack of voice given to our rights having been taken away not not fought against. We are slowly waking up to our govt thanks to all the scandals going on and that shock to our system, but there is no plan on gaining control once again. how do we do it?

That's the question. How DO we do it? You answer that, and the revolution to take back America will start tomorrow. It takes concerted effort, but I haven't seen mass protests at security checkpoints in the airport or people buying less gas or even fighting the IRS on the amount of taxes owed. I'm all ears for any suggestions. Protection and safety, especially at the hands of those in charge, is an illusion. Our rights just increase our odds.

I think IMOO!!!! That if the second amendment is takin away. Then the reat will follow. The second gives us the right to stand up against our government when they become to powerful or headed that way. The second is being attacked harder than any other. That's why me and my family fight hard for it. Cause once it's gone we r screwed.

If I had a plan to gain control or knew anyone that had a good plan. I'd be first inline to take back this country.
