    Grass Fires and Fireworks!!!

Ellis County was lit up like a war zone last night!!!! We only had 3 grass fire calls that had us out until 1!!!! Some of the other areas were running around like crazy!!!!!

Day1 is over, only 3 more to go This weekend defines the reason I joined the volunteer fire service 10+ years ago. Grass Fires, car accidents, drownings, atv accidents and lake accidents!!!

We generally average 25 calls over a holiday weekend this long!!! Yall be safe out there!!!

Y'all be safe too. Thank you so much for volunteering. People like you keep a much needed order in the world, especially in the country. Please be careful out there.

I just got off of a 48 hour shift. Yesterday was busy. One drowning, one missing swimmer, a shed/fence fire and tons of grass fires and medical calls. 5 hours sleep in the last two days combined. Goodnight, y'all!

We had a fire near our farm just off of I-10 two days ago. It burned into some woods that hasn't been on fire for a long time. It was serious enough the forest service responded and brought out a bulldozer and I think they were there from around 4 pm to almost midnight that night fighting it and making sure it couldn't spread anywhere else. It's really dry out here this year.

If the TFS had to be there it was a pretty good fire. Usually we wouldnt call them unless you absolutley have to....

McLennan County lit up at dark last night too. I was on a grass fire across the road from my house that ended up burning 70+ acres.

Yea I saw that. I knew when the wind picked up at dark some jocker would catch something on fire.
