    reverse flow smoker?

    with all the pits fireing up this weekend. can someone give me the scoop on a reverse flow smoker? what do it do that the old smokers dont? thanks and have a great 4th

      I built a reverse flow. Not the best design but my first major welding project.
      The idea is better heat/ smoke distribution. But mine is still 30-50 degrees hotter where the smoke hits the pit. I don't have adjustable baffles, which might help.

        I started out cooking on a buddies Lang[ www.pigroast.com ] reverse flow smoker. I liked it so much I built one. I have been cooking at BBQ comps for the last three years and what I have seen is that it will keep a consistent temp across the entire pit. Some think they burn more wood but haven't seen that at all.I wouldn't say that I don't have anything bad to say at all.
