Tile setting question

We are redoing our kitchen. I put hardi backer on the walls for the tile backsplash. When the cabinets were painted, some sections of the hardi backer were painted as well (accidentally). Will the tile adhere to the painted hardi or do I need to replace it?

If its just small areas your fine. if its big areas and your using a type 1 mastic it might turn loose down the road. no need to replace just take a utility knife and score the painted areas pretty heavy
