A buddy of mine had his 2 year old son get bit this past week in the front yard of their ranch house. They went back and killed 15 in the last two nights. Crazy!

Jamie- Looks like I'll be out there for a Live Snake Hunt Wednesday night!! I'll stop by the pet store on the way and pick up some bait. Still debating on weapon of choice. Anyone have any input on tactics/best lights/stand placement? May need to take some backup with me- this could be an all nighter!!
Ya'll keep your eyes open for the thread.

Doesn't look like the gathering was mating season related. If you need someone to de-snake the place I'll volunteer a couple of nights to look for them. Snake boots and a pocket knife, shotgun is way over-kill......Last edited by Thumper; 06-30-2013, 02:37 PM.

A buddy of mine has 5 kids and kept seeing snakes around the property and looked for a permanent way to stop them...sorry, this is the only pic I can find of the actual fence but it is a very tight spaced wire. You can see a .22cal MAY fit through & appears to have been triple dipped in galvanization process. If you ever saw a baby rattler with just a button, they are pretty darn skinny.
Anyway, he had to dig like 10" deep trench around the whole area, set the fence in the trench and poured in concrete.....was told it has to be that deep w/ concrete under the surface to work. His is tall enough to keep out any snake from south tx from getting over, but still short enough for a average height person to clear without finding a gate.
Been decades and no more snakes in the yard.
