need help with sprinkler system controller

I bought a house that has a Hunter X-Core controller and I cant figure it out. Everything looks like its good but for some reason when it is set to run it sprays two cycles and for thw life of me I cant figure out why. Could I switch it out to a rain bird brain or someone tell me how to fix this one.

When we bought our house the controller was broken. I picked up rain bird at Lowe's. Very easy to install. I believe there is on only one wire going to each solenoid and 120v coming in. Simple diy.

You do need to know how many stations you have. The controllers come in different sizes.

REpaired my rain bird today. Took a new 9 v battery. Sorry don't know anything about the Hunter X-core. Have you got the manual for it?
