    Water Main Break in Anna

if you don't know where Anna is, we are located north of Mckinney on 75. well, there was break in the main line and we have been out of water for several hours now.

we received a call on the local emergency phone line, and free bottled water was being distributed. you don't hear of too many acts of kindness, but, my small town pride is coming through.

the local FD and volunteer FD was in the Brookshires parking lot giving away cases and cases of water, a dozen or so bottles of water per family. there was a steady line of cars making their way for free water.

you don't know how precious something like water is until you don't have it. the town didn't have to donate the water, and the volunteers didn't have to do what they did, but it's a great feeling to see the local community coming together.

just wanted to give props to the locals

Where is the break at? My steel shop is there in Anna, next door to the fire station, and I was wondering if it was anywhere near it. If so, it's going to be a fun day tomorrow.

Pretty neat there's still good people willing to hell out.

Heard it was on 455 right by the bank.

BTW water is still out. Shaving for a job interview is goping to blow tomorrow!

Reading this at work debating if I should take a nice hot shower before I head home. Hmmm

The break was right at 455&5, I drove by yesterday afternoon when they were all standing around wondering what to do. Just checked and still no water yet

There sure seems to be a lot of water breaks now that things are drying up and getting hot. Maybe we should be watering more and not losing millions of gallons of water down the drain...

We're right down the street from 455 & 5. I was just hoping it wasn't right in front of the shop so trucks wouldn't be hindered from getting in and out. Our place is without water too. Really hurts production when you can clean the steel properly. Hopefully it's back up soon.

Used to live there when I was married to my ex. Doesnt surprise me. That town grew way too fast. Was soooooo glad to be gone from there.

Hopefully it won't last too much longer. If it's still down at end of day I am up in Tom Bean if anyone needs a shower. I know it's a little far, but figure I'd offer. I'm thinking they will get it going again before then though.

You should see the proposed "facelift" project for Anna. It's pretty amazing. Only downside is once they go forward with it. The steel shop is going to be non-existent and we will have to move.
