you need to check and see what is available in your area first, and go from there....if available, at@t wireless card is awesome, but again, it's all on availability

I can get all the normal service. I want a phone that can do internet alone or be used as a modem.

Crackberry used to be able to do it. But I don't think they, or any phone wll work as a modem any more. Think about it, the service providers would then lose the opportunity to sell you a wireless card.

You can still use some phone as modem for laptop. I y=would just get a wireless card for a wireless provider. I have AT&T and have not had a porblem with the coverage even out in the woods. Dad has sprint and it stinks

AT&T Tilt. That phone can pretty much do it all including WiFi. My Treo 750 is supposed to be able to link up as a modem to my laptop but I haven't tried it.

The quad-band AT&T Tilt is a powerful tool for professionals who're always on the move! It offers a backlit QWERTY keyboard with large buttons and tactile guides, which slides out from under the display. The display tilts to 40 degrees, to adjust for the best view. The 2.8" touch screen offers 65K color, and 320 x 240 resolution, and the screen orientation automatically shifts to landscape when you open the keyboard. Tilt is also Push-to-Talk ready (subscription required).

The Tilt comes with Windows Mobile 6 Professional Edition, MS Mobile Office Suite, and Adobe Reader, for full mobile document management. Direct Push technology syncs your Outlook data and provides real-time delivery of searchable email. The 3-megapixel 8X zoom camera shoots stills in 6 resolutions and 4 quality modes, and video in one of 4 resolution settings. The integrated microSD slot supports cards up to 4GB, for plenty of room for your vital data, pictures, and video.

Connect anywhere with Tilt! With Bluetooth, built-in wireless, 3G, and satellite reception, you'll be able to hit your home or office network, or any number of subscription services. One of them, TeleNav, gives you voice-guided, turn-by-turn driving directions; Points of Interest, such as restaurants, shopping, and other businesses; and it can even help you find the lowest gas price in your vicinity! Once you try Tilt, you may never take your laptop on the road again!

The Blackberry Curve has some great features. I currently manage 45 of them at work. For Email, Web Browsing, WiFi, GPS, MP3 player, 4.0 meg pix camera with 4x zoom, Speaker and Voice activated dialing, and last but not least, it can be used as a tethered modem. Pretty useful tool. A lawyers life support system.

Based in Waterloo, Ontario, BlackBerry is a leader in secure communications — helping businesses, government agencies and safety-critical institutions of all sizes secure the Internet of Things (IoT).

All Blackberry's from AT&T can be used as modems as well. It is a free download called Communication Manager for your laptop for this to work. You can also use the AT&T Tilt (8595) or 8525.

There are a few regular phones that will work as well but most require software purchased from manufacturer for compatibility. Motorola sells for around $50 bucks. Tech support can be kind of a PITA with the phones but setup is very simple on the Blackberry.

I can pull up the net with my iBook G4 and my Nokia 6126. I use the bluetooth and the Imac System Preferences/Network/Bluetooth.

I messed with the iPhone today and that will be my next phone. It is very intuitive and I was able to surf the net at the Apple Store. I surfed the TBH.

Any phone with bluetooth should work. Your carrier has no clue that you are using your phone as a modem and it is $19.99 unlimited data with ATT.

                            Got cell...got net!!!
