How does this steering cylinder come apart-tractor?

Took off the clips on both sides that apparently keep end cups from going in too far- cant keep it from coming out cause of positioning

This is solid shaft and I can slide it back and forth. Rebuild kit is just some o-rings and seals- $104.. Crazy

I'm guessing I need to pry or pull caps off and allow it to come through. I have tie rod off one end so it should come through. I ram it against itself a few times and nothing- don't want to use force unless for sure doing it right.
Mechanic said don't pull it off tractor - much easier that way.

Just drive the gland far enough to remove ring. Don't drive gland to far back

          Close up.
Make sure both lines are loose!

I can't tell for sure by your pics and without knowing the brand of tractor. So many hydraulic cylinders are made in India or elsewhere. On some of the large cab tractors with loaders, they require a spanner wrench to engage the holes to unscrew the end part.

            I've rebuilt enough of them.

              It's a zetor 6321

So your saying instead of me trying to pull or pry those caps in I need to hammer them in - (guess that would make sense since clips are designed to keep em from going in and not out)

After I drive em inward then what allows the entire shaft to come out? How will I get them set back in place?

                To clarify-

I pulled e clips off outer part pictured above. Then I drive those inward and remove another clip that will let it all come out ?

Both ends of shaft are same and once screw out ball joint assembly either side should slide all the way through. We only took one lose

Yes. Once u get rod out & reseal glands & piston. Lube all seals. Install rod & glands. Drive gland in. Install ring. Pull rod all the way to push gland back out. Install snap ring.

The rod & piston assemble can only come out one way. Might go out the other side. Just call me 5one2nine 220four21 if needed.

Drive the "end cap" in there is a snap ring on the inside use a screw driver to get under it and another to pry it out then you can pull the whole rod and piston out the side you took apart repeat for the other cap as it will have seals as well. Reseal and install one side then install internal snap ring. Lubricate all seals with oil or grease and slide the rod and piston assembly through the installed end cap and push it until piston makes contact with cap and push it in until it seats on the snap ring. then slide the other cap on and drive it into the barrel. Install snap ring and shoot compressed air in that side to seat the cap. Install both external snap rings and connect your lines. Fill with oil and work the cylinder back and forth to get all the air out then hook up your tie rod ends.
