In few months time, I've converted three city slickers to become a hunter.
Last weekend, I took a long time friend to our ranch, that I've not seen in 5-6 years. His name is Mike. He needed to get out of city and wanted to spend time in the woods with me, working on a box blind. When he got there, he said a numerous time that he felt at peace, relief from stress, just by being out there. Kept telling me that he was grateful for having him there.
Last Saturday, we took a break from building a box blind. He sat on the cooler, looking out in the woods, and shook his head. I asked him what was up. He said you changed my life! You've converted me! I want to be Hunter, now. It just hit me hard that when I thought about it. I've converted three city slickers in few months' time.
It feels good because I know we are a dying breed to some, traditions forgotten, but if you can convert one at some point. There is a hope!
One of my friend stopped hunting for more than 20 years. He and I reconnected through Instagram through his girlfriend's account. We have been talking via Videphone. All of my three friends are Deaf. So we talk through videophone.
Andy was asking me about bow, rifles, and other things. I've been giving him advices or whatnot. He said he can't wait to be back in the game. I told him when he gets back from summer vacation, to join TBH!
Anthony is also hooked. He hasn't killed critter yet but I feel that he may will this season!
Bottom line, if you can convert a city slicker, then you have done the right thing!
