    Ok, so I didn't shoot him. I called 911

This is a real question because it happen to me this morning. Just getting done with all the "paper work". Talk about a weird morning.

So what do you do when you are on your way to work, on the city bus, and see a obviously crazy man pull a knife and point it at two little girls? Mind you that I have to walk through a 30.06 warning coming into the court house every day so my carrying a handgun is out of the question because I don't have anywhere to put it during the day. I take public transportation to and from work. I carry a few items other than a gun because of this and one this day is a choice I will not be leaving home without you can take that one to the bank. Not a gun, but it got results.

I can say that stepping between a man with a knife and two little girls and their mom in a confined space of a bus' walk area is a bit butt puckering.

So a guy gets on the bus and I canssee this dude is crazy. He talking to himself and shortly to two little girls 5ish years old. He is obviously nuts but all you can do is sit there and watch until you see him go in his pocket and pull out a knife and start pointing it at the girls. This is just what I saw in slow motion. I jumped up and stepped between him and the girls and put my ASP up in his face and explain I am fixing to mace him if he don't put the knife down. Being in the bus and pointing at the driver's direction it is not an idea direction to discharge OC. Also, there are several others on the bus. Crazy dude complies but continues his rant and cussing me and everyone else. The drive stops and commands the guy to exit the bus.

I watch which way the guy is walking and since he is walking my direction I get out and start to dial 911 at the next block. The guy comes by me and AGAIN pulls the knife. Remember, I am not allowed to carry to inside of work with the 30.06 warning. So who is this 30.06 warning protecting now? Obviously not me, I have a guy with a knife in his hands cussing me and threatening me on a sidewalk and all I can do is arm myself with my ASP and warn the crazy guy to keep walking.

He walks across the street stops and waves and cusses with the knife. By
now I have 911 on the phone and in a short few minutes the cops show up.

Bad thing is the bus driver not wanting to get involved drove off with the little girls and their mom and the police lost them and the others on the bus as witnesses. The good thing is that I was also threatened and now they have me as a victim to this aggravated assault.

Not real smart after the fact to step between a crazy dude with a knife and two little girls and their mom. But, God forbid me if I hadn't have. And God bless that man's sole because one of these days someone is going to send it to Hell.

P.S. Not one person other than me got involved

Kudos for showing wisdom in the situation, Danny, and especially for deflecting attention off the children. Glad circumstances didn't turn uglier.

That does sound like a butt puckering experience, we would all like to think we would have done the same thing, but it is easier said than done for sure. Sounds like you did a great thing and the right thing. Sounds like that guy has some serious issues and hopefully they will put him where he needs to be before he hurts someone for no reason. Great job!

You did the right thing! Which would be hard for anyone to do in that circumstance. I am just glad that he was not too crazy to put the knife down. I would think twice about pulling that out on a guy with a knife, but you had to do what you had to do in that situation. I would have had to basically look at it from the direction that I am most likely going to be the one getting the knife, but at least it won't be the little girls. Thank God it didn't turn into that for you though.

                  Kudos to you

My hats off to you Danny. You done good. Not a lot of people would do that.

I can say from experience that its probably not a good idea to get in your face.

Thanks for not kickin my arse at GRXH. I'm sorry for that again.
