    Close call on the coyote call

    Well last night went to do some night hunting with that full moon that we had let me tell u it was on! picture this we walked in to a pasture seen a hog shot and missed lol so we decided to setup down wind so texas bowhunters "copperhead" was on the call I was on the gun my other buddy was beside me with my 9mm copperhead wasn't on the call 30seconds we heard something running threw the weeds behind us it was at full throttle running and getting closer it came right behind us within 5ft we turned around my buddy did some matrix moves and shot we heard him fall but couldn't find him so I'm just thankful we were all ok we had to change are underwear but it was all good that was the first time my buddy has ever been hunting and almost got attacked I asked him if he liked it and he said ya just not that close lol

            Not exactly sure we didn't find it we was calling up coyotes I'm assuming it was a yote

              Deer will come to a destress call. Cows will too.

                It wasn't a deer nor cow it was a predator I'm sure to low to the ground for a deer or cow it was coming straight for the call almost on one off our backs

                        Never a good idea to shoot at what you can't see. I know a guy that shot one of his family members doing that.

                            You were coyote hunting. It was probably a coyote. Deer and cattle might be interested in a distress call, I have seen them (especially cows) wander in and try to figure out what the noise is. But they don't come in at a dead sprint LOL. If a 1200 lb cow was running at you, you would know it. And deer might be curious as well, but they are NOT gonna come running into a cottontail in distress sound. Get back after it and have fun.

                              Agree with this but I'm not sure I would ever shoot at something being unsure of what it was.
