Alaska does not require you to take the meat, that should tell you something right there, was told that it is not edible. After skinning one of those giants for 8 hours I would have to be near death before I would eat it.

If they are anything like black bears they smell like a giant coon and you can't get the smell off after you clean it. You're right, that is enough to make you not want to eat it, not to mention seeing what they eat. Rotten moose meat and beaver that has been dead for 5 months.
