microwave buttons "crashed" !

i have a 'Kenmore Elite" microwave,about 2 yrs old and the bottom buttons quit working on the display,the top part still works,just makes it a pain sometimes when heating up food. can anyone tell me if its worth fixxing or if i can fix it? or do i need to just buy a new one. thanks-Billy

You can fix that one but I don't think it would be worth it.

I have an old GE and one by one, the buttons stopped working. I spent a couple of hours and took it apart, cleaned the panel and put it back together. It worked fine after that and I saved a few hundered dollars by not having to buy a new microwave. My wife was impressed with me too!

It was a couple of years ago, so I don't remember the details, but I remember gathering a lot of info on the internet about my model and how to disassemble and clean.
