    OLD traditional recurve bow help

I got this from my dad, he bought it when he was 18 and I used to play with it as a small kid. It hasn't had a string on it in probably at least 30yrs! Any info about it. Also it has some stress looking cracks in the finish....can this be repaired? Who does that sort of thing? Think it's safe to shoot?

Check out damonhowatt.com , pretty interesting history on your bow. Maybe you could send it to them to be refinished ?

I have refinished several bows, do a search for "restoring a recurve" and you can see some. The cracks in the pictures look to just be in the finish and shouldn't have an immediate effect on shooting the bow. You need to check for limb twist. Look down the length of the bow from tip to tip and see if you notice the limbs twisting or pointing off to one side or the other. Minor limb twist most of the times can be repaired. You might put this up in the traditional section also. PM me if you have any other questions.
