They work pretty good. And I would say the picture doesn't do the lights justice either. Awesome lights in clear water, but HPS are a better choice in murky to muddy water. At least that seems to be the consensus.

Led lights on your boat? Or flashlight type?

I know a guy with leds on his boat and they really light up the water! They're super bright

          Which lights are you running?

That picture is 10 (5 on one side) -12V, 45 watt LEDs ran off a deep cycle marine battery. I have never ran out of juice as long as the battery is fully charged when i go out (5 hours easy).

I now have 2 - 12v 100 watts that point to the front on their own battery and the rest of the 45 watts point to the sides. Set up works well for me. Not having to talk over a generator was worth the small amount of water penetration loss you get vs. HPS.

This picture really doesn't show the quality of the lights but it shows the setup a little better.

This was with only the 45W lights.

Do they attract the same amount of bugs?

I am told most LED's do not attract bugs. IDK

As a guide I prefer using the HPS cause of the brightness. And where I'm at the LEDs won't shine in the water to far.

The120vt led's are comparable to a 150hps. But run on about a 1/3 of the juice. Good lights all together..

I am not sure on the same amount, but we use LED's and they do attract bugs.

And can be run through an inverter so you still don't need a generator.

Honestly it would be better t run a quiet generator (Honda eu's or Yamaha) and converters for your batteries.
