Man it takes a lot of weight to give you a high foc. We are building a broadhead for hogs. Right now with it weights 877 gns. Hoping to get a Finnish head around 400. But even at 877 it was only 39% foc. Yes that's a lot but I thought it would have been more. Need to recheck it was late last night so I might have missed measured

Are the Rayzr's the 2" variety? I shoot FOBs and those kill the FOC, but I still have close to 19% with 150 grains rear insert weights and 100 grain heads. Looking to build a Cape Buffalo arrow with 800 to 900 grains with a single bevel COC head and pushing 20% FOC. Going to need around .20 to .25 spine with that set up. I have a few recommendations for arrows and heads, but would be grateful for more suggestions if anyone has any. this is a thread that will be very neat to watch to see what the results are and how the arrow and heads shoot and fly. Very interesting and exciting to see new things by locals being made and tested. Will these heads possibly be made to where you can sell a few? Keep posting on your results and your thoughts.

Mudslinger. I doubt that we would be selling the heads. I don't think there would be much of a market for 400 plus gn broadhead. If we can get them to shoot and do what I want I will send you one. Or heck maybe just drive to Lubbock. I haven't been in a couple of years. The only problem building them is we are both very busy so we just work on them as we can

Muddy, do you think the feathers have better control than Blazers and are they fairly quiet in comparison to most. the reason I am asking is because of teh FOBS and the high FOC I am looking for in a buffalo arrow, I may be looking at going back to regular fletching. I am in the planning stages and looking at all my options and trying to get all the info from different people before I start spending money trying to find my perfect arrow set up, that is if I can. Enewman, no rush. The Cape hutn will be in 2014 or possible 2015 depending on the costs I am ficing to incur on the mounts for my last tirp to RSA. They just hit the states and I am looking at least 2 and possibly 4 full body mounts! I appreciate waht you are doing and definitley interested in your findings.

in terms of audible noise, they are louder I won't lie to you. when they are new and tight they are still louder than a vane in flight. I don't really worry about that much because the fastest bows in the world still are 600 fps behind the speed of sound. if they don't hear your arrow then they will still hear bow.
i understand what you are saying about the fobs, they can't be light. taking it off the back is the same as adding it to the front. i know that trueflight will send you a few free samples and i think gateway will as well.
