I have done this before BUT when you find that that fits just right it is way to hard to just chunk it.

People who make ball caps need to make a living too....dispose of them.

Yup as a football coach in west texas I can turn a white hat brown in a week. Just drop it in with your undies.

I have some hats- the ones I wear working in the yard, etc that I never wash. When they get so nasty they are starting to rot, I trash'em. I hand wash my "nicer caps" in the sink - warm (not hot) water, Woolite and a scrub brush. I then stuff it with wadded up newspaper and hang in the garage overnight to dry.

Washing machine about every week or so for the caps that I wear daily with my farm work. If the structured front gets bent I can usually iron it out and its right back to its original form.

I desperately need to wash a couple of my favorites. They are starting to smell like wet dogs when I sweat.

I wore hats so dirty I could take my pocket knife and scape the layer of dirt/oil/grease off the bill. But I have started washing before that get that bad here. Soak In our holding take full of industrial strength degreaser/soap and water. Then hit the pressure washer. Wear till dry or hang on fan till dry.

Sacrilage!! You people are heartless! When you find the perfect cap, you can't just throw it away! You wash it multiple times, have your momma put it back together several times, caress it and care for it forever!

PS... My wife says I have a slight cap/hat problem, but HEY, I only have 60-70, I used to have about 150-200!
